REAL MADRID is reportedly going to let xabi alonso go, and they're looking to appoint a new manager soon. A recent 3-0 win at san mamés gave them a little relief, but their 2-0 loss to celta vigo at the santiago bernabéu made things worse. Alonso hasn't been showing much impact on the field, and his poor performances have put him under a lot of pressure.
Sources from flashscore say that florentino pérez, the club president, decided to let alonso go right after the loss to celta.
He delayed the announcement to focus on the champions league match against manchester city and to find a good replacement. Pérez wants to get back the team spirit and winning form that was there under carlo ancelotti.
Pérez’s main choice is zinedine zidane, who had great success when he was at the club before.
But zidane has already agreed to take charge of the french national team after the 2026 world cup, which makes it harder for madrid to bring him back now. If zidane isn't available, álvaro arbeloa, who's doing well with real madrid castilla, could be the next option.
Even though real madrid hasn't officially announced alonso's departure yet, everything points to his time as manager coming to an end soon.
The next big decision will be important for the club as they try to stabilize their season and move ahead with a clearer direction.
