BAFANA BAFANA squad has officially gathered for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with most players based locally already in camp. A few overseas-based players are expected to join later in the week as South Africa begins its preparations for the tournament in Morocco.
Several squad members have been busy over the past week, with mixed results across domestic leagues.
Some returned to camp as cup winners, while others contributed key performances for their clubs. One goalkeeper had a standout display in the Carling Knockout final, helping his team win 1-0 against Marumo Gallants with a clean sheet. Ricardo Goss also had a strong performance for Siwelele, making a crucial save in their 1-1 Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns. Ronwen Williams also stood out for Sundowns with a top-class stop in the same game.
The team is now focusing on preparations ahead of the opening AFCON fixtures, with the technical team set to assess player readiness and integrate late arrivals.
Confidence remains high after strong recent performances from the goalkeeping department, a key foundation for South Africa's ambitions in Morocco.
