REAL MADRID have taken a big hit after Brazilian defender Eder Militao suffered a serious muscle tear in the biceps femoris of his left leg, specifically affecting the proximal tendon. The injury occurred during Sunday’s match against Celta Vigo on December 7th and was confirmed through medical tests that showed how serious it is.
While the club hasn’t shared a specific timeline for his return, injuries involving tendons usually need a long recovery period.
Early estimates suggest Militao might be out for three to four months, which means he’ll miss a key part of the season. He looked in pain as he was helped off the field, which made everyone worried.
Militao’s injury adds to Real Madrid’s defensive troubles under manager Xabi Alonso.
The team is already missing several key defenders, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal, Dean Huijsen, Ferland Mendy, and David Alaba, all of whom are injured. This growing list of missing players is putting a lot of pressure on the squad as the season gets tougher.
Worse still, Alvaro Carreras and Fran Garcia are both suspended for the next league game after picking up red cards in the last match.
Right now, the only senior defenders available for the game against Alavés on Sunday, December 14th, are Antonio Rüdiger and Raúl Asencio.
