REAL MADRID AND ALONSO LOSE THEIR HEADS IN SHOCK HOME DEFEAT TO CELTA VIGO

CELTA VIGO shocked Real Madrid with a 2-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu, marking their first LaLiga victory at the stadium since 2006. Williot Swedberg, coming on as a substitute, scored both goals, ending an 18-year wait for Celta to beat Real in the league. The team’s strong defense kept Real from scoring, even as the reigning champions faced mounting pressure.

Real Madrid had chances early on, with Militao, Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior all involved, but they couldn’t break through Celta’s tight organization.

Celta responded with their own effort, with Pablo Duran coming close, and Real suffered a blow when Militao had to leave the field injured in the first half.

Swedberg opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a smart flick after a good run from Bryan Zaragoza.

Just moments later, Real were reduced to ten men when Fran García picked up two quick yellow cards, making it harder for them to fight back. Despite late efforts from Vinicius, Mbappé, and Tchouameni, Real couldn’t find the equalizer.

In the final stages of the game, Swedberg sealed the win by beating Courtois with a solo run.

The loss ends Real Madrid’s eight-game unbeaten run in LaLiga and leaves them four points behind Barcelona. With only two wins in their last seven matches, the pressure on head coach Xabi Alonso is growing.
