TWENTY-FOUR Girls Kidnapped From A School In Northwestern Nigeria Last Week Have Been Released, A Spokesman For The Kebbi State Governor Said On Tuesday.


The Girls Were Kidnapped On November 17 When Gunmen Stormed Their School In Kebbi State Shortly After The Army Left. The Attack Has Added To A Spate Of Kidnappings In Kwara And Niger States, Authorities Said.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu On Tuesday Welcomed The Release Of The Girls And Called On Security Forces To Intensify Efforts To Rescue Others Still Being Held.

“I Am Relieved That All 24 Have Been Recovered. It Is Now Imperative, As A Matter Of Urgency, To Increase The Number Of Soldiers In Vulnerable Areas To Prevent Further Abductions. My Government Will Provide All Necessary Support To This Urgent Need,” Tinubu Said.
