According To An Official Statement Released On Thursday, October 24, 2025, By Chief Secretary Ambassador Dr. Moses Kusiluka, The Decision Follows The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’S Announcement Setting That Date For The Presidential, Parliamentary, And Local Government Elections.
The Statement Noted That The Move Aims To Ensure That All Eligible Citizens — Including Public Servants And Private Sector Employees — Have The Opportunity To Exercise Their Constitutional Right To Vote Without Work-Related Limitations.
“The President Has Approved October 29, 2025, As A Public Holiday To Enable All Qualified Voters To Participate In The National Electoral Process,” The Statement Read In Part.
The INEC Has Meanwhile Urged All Citizens To Turn Out In Large Numbers On Election Day And Exercise Their Democratic Right To Choose Leaders Who Will Guide The Country For The Next Five Years.
