PASSENGERS Traveling Aboard The Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Between Dar Es Salaam And Dodoma Have Commended The Government And The Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) For Their Swift Response In Restoring Train Services Following The October 23, 2025 Accident In Ruvu, Pwani Region.

Speaking At Various Stations Including Dar Es Salaam, Morogoro, And Dodoma — Passengers Expressed Their Gratitude, Saying They Had Little Hope Of Traveling After Hearing News Of The Accident. However, The Rapid Measures Taken By TRC To Resume Operations Gave Them Renewed Confidence.

“When I Saw Online Reports About The SGR Accident, I Thought Our 2:00 PM Departure Was Cancelled. But When I Reached The Dodoma Station, Trains Were Operating — And Our Journey Began As Planned,” Said Fatina Said.

Another Passenger, Isdory Kileo, Added: “We Really Appreciate This Effort Because We Expected It Would Take At Least A Week Or More To Resume Services.”

The Swift Restoration Of SGR Operations Has Been Viewed As A Sign Of Improved Emergency Response And Maintenance Capacity Within TRC, Reinforcing Public Trust In Tanzania’s Modern Railway System.
