They have also talked about how they see Semenyo playing at Old Trafford, including the chance to take on a role similar to Amad Diallo, who has been doing well as a wing-back.
United believe Semenyo has the skills to do a similar job and could do well on either side of the pitch.
Manchester City, on the other hand, are also trying to win Semenyo over, making a strong case based on their recent success.
They highlight Pep Guardiola as a coach who can develop players in a way few can, and offer a clear path to immediate success, which is different from United's longer-term rebuild.
City are using their recent wins in the Premier League and Champions League to show Semenyo what he could achieve if he joins them, as they are currently second in the league and doing well in Europe.
