AYOUB El Kaabi scored a big goal with a powerful header, helping Morocco beat Comoros 2-0 in the first match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. This is the fourth time in a row that the host country started the tournament with a win.
Morocco had to be very patient and keep working hard, both from the players and the fans.
Even though they had a great chance to score early, just 11 minutes into the game, Iyad Mohamed unfairly fouled Brahim Diaz, which led to a penalty. But Comoros' goalkeeper, Yannick Pandor, saved the penalty with a quick reaction.
Nine minutes after the break, Morocco finally took the lead.
The play involved some of the best players from Manchester and Madrid. Noussair Mazraoui made a smart pass down the left wing, and Brahim Diaz shot the ball hard past Pandor, just under the penalty spot.
