TRUMP TO HOST RWANDA AND DR CONGO LEADERS FOR PEACE AGREEMENT SIGNING

PRESIDENT Trump will host the leaders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo on Thursday for a ceremony to sign a peace agreement. The White House confirmed the event, which is part of ongoing U.S.-led efforts to bring about peace between the two nations. The agreement was finalized in June and signed by the foreign ministers of both countries.

The meeting in Washington is meant to continue diplomatic efforts and ease tensions in the region. The U.S. has been supporting talks between Rwanda and the DRC after a period of increasing instability.

Earlier this year, tensions rose when the M23 rebel group, which is believed to have received support from Rwanda, took control of two important towns in eastern DR Congo.

This situation raised concerns about a potential larger conflict. The U.S. hopes the new agreement will help bring stability to the region, stop more violence, and promote lasting collaboration between the two neighboring countries.
