THE FIFA World Cup 2026™ groups were officially revealed at a star-studded event held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. The ceremony brought together fans in a celebration of the next edition of the most prestigious football tournament in the world.
Notable matchups emerged from the draw, including Brazil facing off against Morocco, the Netherlands taking on Japan, and a highly anticipated rematch between France and Senegal.
Newcomers to the World Cup, such as Cabo Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan, were also assigned their first-ever World Cup opponents, including powerhouses like Spain, Germany, Argentina, and Portugal.
The tournament’s opening match, set for 11 June 2026, will take place in Mexico City, featuring Mexico versus South Africa.
FIFA will release the full match schedule, including venues and kick-off times for all 104 matches, on 6 December, with the announcement live on FIFA.com.
The schedule reveal will take place in Washington, DC at 12:00 EST.
The event featured performances by Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger, Lauryn Hill, and The Village People, while hosts Kevin Hart, Heidi Klum, and Danny Ramirez welcomed sports legends such as Rio Ferdinand, Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Aaron Judge, and Shaquille Neal.
