THE UNTOLD STORY BEHIND DIAMOND PLATNUMZ'S 2016 COCA-COLA CAMPAIGN SONG

MANY young fans might not remember that before becoming a Pepsi ambassador, Diamond Platnumz was once a Coca-Cola brand ambassador and created one of the most memorable promotional campaigns of his career.

At that time, one particular promotional track gained a lot of popularity in East Africa, with the same level of quality and big ambitions as a top Bongo Fleva song.

But few people know the bigger international story behind the 2016 Coca-Cola "Taste the Feeling" campaign.
While Diamond adapted the song into Kiswahili for the East African market, the original version was written and sung by Australian artist Conrad Sewell. The song's production was handled by the world-famous Swedish producer Avicii. Diamond's part in the project was to creatively adapt the track, making it relevant to local audiences while keeping the original melody and instrumentation intact.

Globally, Coca-Cola used "Taste the Feeling" as the main theme for their campaign.
The English version of the song was also played during big events like the UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2016 Summer Olympics. Diamond's Kiswahili version helped the brand connect more closely with Swahili-speaking people, boosting the campaign's presence in East Africa.

Avicii, known as one of the most influential producers of his time, left a lasting legacy with global hits like Wake Me Up, Waiting for Love, and The Nights, all of which have billions of views on YouTube.
His part in creating the original "Taste the Feeling" track is an important part of the campaign's history.
