THE TREASON Case Against Chadema Leader Tundu Lissu Was Adjourned Until The Court Registrar Arranges The Next Session Schedule. The Judge Paused The Trial After Lissu Raised Objections In Court.
Lissu Challenged The Use Of A Protected-Witness Room For A Witness Known As P11. He Argued That Protected Witnesses Should Testify From The Witness Box Where The Judge Can See Them, Not From A Separate Room Where The Judge Cannot See The Witness While Evidence Is Given.
He Also Told The Court That The Law Used To Protect Secret Witnesses Is Not Valid Because It Was Never Published In The Government Gazette. Lissu Said He Checked The National Library, Parliament Records, And The Attorney General’s Office And Found No Record Of That Law Being Published.
The Prosecution, Led By Senior Government Lawyer Nassoro Katuga, Asked The Court For Time To Prepare Legal And Factual Responses To Lissu’s Objections. The Court Paused The Case While The Registrar Sets The Next Hearing Dates.
