RWANDAN President Paul Kagame Has Said The Continent Could Witness More Revolutions If The Challenges Facing Citizens, Especially The Youth Of Gen-Z, Are Not Addressed. He Made The Statement In Response To Questions About The Increase In Revolutions On The Continent In Recent Years.
Since 1952, More Than 130 Revolutions Have Been Recorded In 36 African Countries, With Nearly 10 In The Past Five Years Alone. The Most Recent Event Occurred In Madagascar Last Month, And Guinea-Bissau Has Been Gripped By Uncertainty Since Wednesday.
Kagame Said Instead Of Being Surprised By Revolutions, Leaders Should Ask Themselves The Reasons That Drive Citizens To Such A Step. He Explained That Many Problems In Africa—Including Rwanda—Stem From The Way Leaders Run Their Countries.
He Stressed That Not Listening To Citizens, Ignoring Their Expectations, Or Failing To Address Their Challenges Can Create Friction That Creates An Environment For Revolution.
