In His Message, Youssouf Stressed The Importance Of Calm And Peace, Urging All Parties To Refrain From Actions That Could Further Escalate Tensions. He Also Called For The Unconditional Release Of All Officials Arrested In The Incident.
The Situation Arose After General Horta N’Tam Was Declared On Thursday As The Interim President Of Guinea-Bissau, A Move That Has Heightened Concerns About The Political Future Of The Country.
The AU Has Stressed That It Will Continue To Closely Monitor Developments In The Country While Calling For The Restoration Of Constitutional Authority As Soon As Possible.
