🚨 COURT DISMISSES PETITION FOR CONTEMPT IN CHADEMA CRISIS. ‼️

THE HIGH COURT, Dar Es Salaam, Has Dismissed A Petition For Contempt Of Court Filed Against Chadema Mainland Leaders, Including Vice Chairman John Heche And Secretary General John Mnyika.

The Case Accused Them Of Violating A Court Order Prohibiting The Party From Engaging In Political Activities And Using Its Assets While The Dispute Over The Distribution Of Assets Between Chadema Mainland And Chadema Zanzibar Was Ongoing.

The Petition Was Filed By Former Chadema Zanzibar Leaders Said Issa Mohamed, Ahmed Rashid Khamis And Maulida Anna Komu Who Are Also Plaintiffs In The Main Case Number 8323 Of 2025. They Alleged That Chadema Mainland Leaders Continued To Conduct Party Activities Contrary To The Previous Court Order.

In Addition To Heche And Mnyika, The Other Defendants In The Petition Were Rose Mayemba, Brenda Rupia, Hilda Newton, Twaha Mwaipaya, Gervas Bernard Lyenda, As Well As Chadema’s Registered Trustees. The Plaintiffs Requested The Court To Order The Leaders To Be Detained As Pretrial Detainees On Charges Of Contempt Of Court.

However, Justice Awamu Mbagwa In His Ruling On Friday, November 28, 2025, Dismissed The Case After Agreeing With The Objection That It Was Filed Outside The Legal 60-Day Period. The Ruling Restores The Power Of The Chadema Mainland Side In The Process Of Awaiting The Decision Of The Main Case.
