THE Tanzania Bus Owners Association (Taboa) Has Announced The Temporary Suspension Of Several Bus And Marine Transport Routes From October 28 To 30, 2025, Citing The Need To Allow Citizens To Participate In The Upcoming General Election Scheduled For October 29, 2025.
However, The Passengers’ Rights Association Has Criticized The Move, Arguing That The Suspension Lacks Justification And Unfairly Disrupts The Public, Many Of Whom Have Pressing Social And Family Obligations.
Among The Affected Services Are Major Long-Distance Bus Routes From Dar Es Salaam To Mwanza, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Tabora, Mpanda, Bukoba, Karagwe, Tarime, And Kigoma, As Well As Marine Transport Providers Azam Marine And Zan Fast Ferries, Which Confirmed They Will Halt Operations Between Dar Es Salaam And Zanzibar Until October 30.
Passengers Trying To Book Tickets Online For October 29 Found The Date Unavailable, As Transport Companies Prepare To Fully Suspend Services During Election Day To Ensure Smooth National Voting.
