📰. NECTA ANNOUNCES START OF STANDARD FOUR NATIONAL EXAMS UNDER NEW CURRICULUM 💡


THE NATIONAL Examinations Council Of Tanzania (NECTA) Has Announced That Standard Four National Exams Will Begin Tomorrow, October 22, 2025 — Marking The First Time They Will Be Held Under The Updated Curriculum.

The New Curriculum Aims To Assess Students’ Deeper Understanding In Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, And Social Knowledge. NECTA Executive Secretary, Professor Said Mohamed, Said A Total Of 1.58 Million Pupils Have Been Registered For The National Assessment — 768,290 Boys (48.31%) And 817,850 Girls (51.69%).

Among Them, 106,503 Pupils (6.7%) Will Take The English Language Exam, 1.475 Million Will Take Kiswahili, And 5,750 Are Students With Special Needs. These Include 1,164 With Low Vision, 111 Who Are Blind, 1,161 Who Are Hearing Impaired, 1,641 With Intellectual Disabilities, And 1,673 With Physical Disabilities.

Prof. Mohamed Added That Regional And Council Exam Committees Have Been Instructed To Ensure All Exam Centers Are Safe And Calm For Smooth Administration. He Emphasized That The New Curriculum Focuses On Real Understanding And Skills Rather Than Rote Memorization. He Also Urged Parents, Teachers, And The Community To Work Together For Successful Exams And To Continue Supporting Ongoing Education Reforms For A Better Future Generation.
