The Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam, His Eminence Jude Thaddeus Ruwa'ichi, stated that many Tanzanians do not support justice and are not truly involved in it. He explained that this situation is due to ignorance, being misled, or pretending to care about peace without considering the principles of justice.

Bishop Ruwa'ichi made this statement during a special Christmas Eve service, where he encouraged Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ to take part in justice in their everyday lives. He explained that Joseph, who welcomed Jesus into his home, is seen as a righteous man because he protected and cared for Mary and Jesus.
"Joseph, who welcomed Jesus into his home, is recognized as a righteous man. He was able to welcome Mary to protect and care for her. All of us, by the power of our baptism which has united us with Christ the Savior, are called to be righteous people... justice is the understanding of recognizing the merits of others and respecting them."
The bishop also stressed that all Christians, through their baptism that connects them with Christ the Savior, are called to be people of justice.
He explained that justice is about understanding and respecting the worth of others. He reminded the faithful that justice is the foundation of real peace, warning that there can be no lasting peace without justice.
Therefore, he urged Tanzanians to become true stakeholders in peace by beginning with justice. In his sermon, he directly asked, "O son of Dar es Salaam, O Tanzanian, are you a righteous person?"
to encourage believers to reflect on their own actions. Meanwhile, Christians from East Africa have come together with others around the world to celebrate Christmas.
Various leaders, including Kenyan President William Ruto and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, have sent Christmas greetings to believers.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan shared on social media, "I wish all Christians and all Tanzanians a happy Christmas.May God bless you all."
