Israel Signals Response After Gaza Explosion

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will take action after an explosion in Gaza that lightly hurt an Israeli soldier. During a graduation event for Air Force pilots, he mentioned the incident in Rafah, where Israeli troops are still present, and said Hamas has not shown any plans to stop using weapons, even though there was a ceasefire agreement in October.

The Israeli military said an explosive device went off near a military vehicle in Rafah, causing minor injuries to one officer.Netanyahu said Israel will respond "appropriately" to the incident.

Hamas refused to take blame, saying the explosion happened in an area completely controlled by Israeli forces and could have been caused by leftover bombs from the war.

The group said it still supports the October 10 ceasefire, and its official spokesperson, Mahmoud Merdawi, said they have told the mediators about the situation.
