He has won the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2020, but the team hasn't won the Premier League in the last three seasons, finishing second each time. Right now, they are two points ahead in the league and have made it to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
When asked if he could imagine staying beyond his contract in 2027, Arteta said, "Yes, but it's about today.
A lot has to happen in the next few months to earn the right. A manager has to earn the right to be here tomorrow. A lot has to happen in the next few months to earn the right (for an extension)."
