KCNA said Kim stressed that the missile production is important for boosting North Korea's war deterrence. During his visits, he highlighted the need to expand and update the defense industry to achieve future security targets.

KCNA also said Kim has approved plans to improve key weapons factories. These plans will be presented at a major party meeting in early 2026. That meeting will set out North Korea's five-year development plan. Recent reports show Kim is also focusing on advanced military projects, including strengthening naval forces.
