A helicopter belonging to KiliMedair crashed on Mount Kilimanjaro around 5:30 p.m. while traveling to pick up patients associated with a tourism company called Boby Camping. The accident happened in the Glacier Valley area, as stated by Simon Maigwa, the Kilimanjaro Regional Police Commander.

Maigwa confirmed that all five people on board the helicopter died. The victims included the pilot, Constantine Mazonde, a Zimbabwean national; a doctor named Jimmy Daniel; a tour guide named Innocent Mbaga; and two Czech tourists, Plos David and Plosova Anna, who were climbing the mountain with Mikaya Tours.
Reports from the scene, though not yet confirmed, suggest that the helicopter caught fire and broke apart after crashing.The crash site is close to Kibo Hut and Barafu Camp, which are located at an altitude between 4,670 and 4,700 meters above sea level.
