Diddy is seeking to have his conviction overturned and get out of prison. He has asked a court of appeal to release him and dismiss the charges related to prostitution. His legal team filed an expedited appeal on his behalf.

His attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, claims that Diddy was unfairly convicted and that the actions that led to the conviction do not qualify as a criminal offense. She says the 50-month prison sentence is not lawful, violates the Constitution, and represents a failure of justice.
Shapiro is asking the appeals court to either completely remove the conviction or, if that isn’t possible, to order a new sentencing. This appeal is part of a continued effort by Diddy’s lawyers to reduce his sentence or have the case dismissed altogether.
