STRASBOURG'S captain, Emmanuel Emegha, has apologized after making comments that led to a one-game suspension from the Ligue 1 club. The decision came after remarks he reportedly made about the team and the city, which caused concern within the club.
According to L'Équipe, Emegha suggested the team lost matches against stronger opponents because he had been injured. He also admitted he initially thought Strasbourg was in Germany before joining from Sturm Graz. These comments led the club to announce that the striker would miss Saturday's game against Toulouse.
Emegha apologized on Instagram, saying he understood and accepted the disciplinary action. He reflected on his lack of experience, noting that at 22 years old, he's still learning and needs to grow from such situations.
The Dutch forward stressed his commitment to representing Strasbourg properly both on and off the field. He promised to work harder, improve his behavior, and live up to the responsibilities of being team captain.
