ANCELOTTI ACKNOWLEDGES TOUGH ROAD AHEAD AS BRAZIL DRAW MOROCCO FOR 2026 WORLD CUP

CARLO ANCELOTTI, the coach of Brazil, said his team has a tough path ahead after being placed in a group with Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti for the 2026 World Cup. Morocco, who made it to the semifinals in the 2022 tournament, is the standout team in Group C. Joining them are Scotland, who are returning to the World Cup after being away for 28 years, and Haiti, whose last appearance was way back in 1974.

In an interview with Sportv, Ancelotti highlighted how strong Morocco has become recently and mentioned that Scotland's organized play makes them a real threat.

Brazil's first game will be on June 13 against Morocco, then they'll face Haiti on June 19, and conclude the group stage with Scotland on June 24. Ancelotti stressed the need for good preparation and a win in the group.

Brazil's performance before the tournament has not been steady.

They've had four different coaches since the 2022 World Cup, and they recently lost 4-1 to Argentina in a qualifier game in March. The pressure will be on them to regain their top form, especially since they're the five-time world champions starting a new cycle.

There's a history linking Brazil to each of their group opponents.

In 1998, Brazil beat both Scotland and Morocco during the group stage and went on to the final. They also had a memorable match in Port-au-Prince in 2004, where they beat Haiti 6-0 with some of their legendary players like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. These past games add extra excitement for Brazil's upcoming World Cup journey.
