🚨 WFP WARNS OF DEEP FUNDING CRISIS AS GLOBAL HUNGER NUMBERS SURGE 🚀

THE WORLD Food Programme (WFP) Has Raised Alarm Over A Severe Funding Shortfall That Is Preventing The Agency From Reaching Even One-Third Of The 318 Million People Projected To Face Acute Hunger By 2026. The Organization Says The Crisis Threatens To Reverse Years Of Progress In Global Food Security.

According To WFP, The Number Of People Experiencing Extreme Hunger Has More Than Doubled Since 2019. This Rise Is Driven By A Combination Of Ongoing Conflicts, The Escalating Impacts Of Climate Change, And Widespread Economic Shocks Affecting Vulnerable Communities Worldwide.

In 2024 Alone, WFP Provided Food Assistance To More Than 124 Million People. However, The Agency Notes That A Staggering 318 Million Individuals Currently Face Severe Hunger, Far Exceeding Its Operational Capacity. As A Result, WFP Has Been Forced To Prioritize Support For The 110 Million People Most At Risk, A Strategy Requiring Over USD 13 Billion.

Reports From DW And The United Nations Indicate That WFP May Secure Only Half Of The Funding It Needs Due To Declining Global Humanitarian Contributions. The United States—WFP’s Largest Donor—Has Significantly Reduced Its Support Under The Administration Of President Donald Trump, While Several European Countries Have Also Tightened Their Humanitarian Budgets.

The Situation Is Further Worsened By Officially Declared Famine Conditions In Gaza And Parts Of Sudan. WFP Executive Director Cindy Mccain Described These Developments As “A Disgrace In The 21st Century,” Emphasizing The Urgent Need For Renewed International Commitment To Prevent Millions From Slipping Deeper Into Crisis.
