U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced her resignation, saying the political atmosphere has become increasingly hostile and deeply divided since President Trump returned to office.
Greene — once one of Trump’s strongest allies — said she made the decision after the President labeled her a “traitor”, sparking fears that she would face a brutal Republican primary battle.
She has also recently pushed for the release of Jeffrey Epstein case files, a move that intensified political debate and brought heightened scrutiny.
Greene will officially leave Congress on January 5, 2026.
President Trump reacted to the news by saying her resignation is “good news for the country.”
