MUSSA AZZAN ZUNGU Has Been Elected As The New Speaker Of The 13th Parliament Of The United Republic Of Tanzania.


Zungu Won By A Large Margin, Receiving 378 Out Of 383 Votes During The First Session Of The New Parliament. His Victory Makes Him The Eighth Speaker Since The Parliament Was First Established.

He Was Nominated By The Ruling Party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). Former Speaker Dr. Tulia Ackson Withdrew From The Race For Undisclosed Reasons. Daniel Sillo Has Been Appointed As The New Deputy Speaker.

Past Speakers Of Tanzania’s Parliament Include Adam Sapi Mkwawa, Erasto Mang’enya, Pius Msekwa, Samuel Sitta, Anna Makinda, Job Ndugai, And Dr. Tulia Ackson.
