Speaking During Talks With President Hakainde Hichilema In Lusaka, Premier Li Said China Is Ready To Support Zambia’s Modernization Efforts And Build A Stronger China-Zambia Community With Shared Goals And Mutual Benefits.
During The Visit, Premier Li Highlighted China’s Readiness To Expand Bilateral Trade And Unlock New Areas Of Collaboration, Including Mining, New Energy Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare And Agriculture. He Emphasized That These Efforts Aim To Improve The Quality Of Life For Citizens In Both Countries While Boosting Zambia’s Long-Term Economic Growth.
Li Also Called For Greater Cultural, Educational And Tourism Exchanges To Help Strengthen People-To-People Ties. He Noted That Mutual Understanding Between Citizens Is Essential To Building A Solid Foundation For Future Cooperation And Ensuring That The Partnership Continues To Grow Sustainably.
A Major Highlight Of His Remarks Was The Call To Revitalize The Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) In Partnership With Tanzania. Li Described The Revival Of The Historic Railway As A Shared Aspiration That Would Spark New Economic Opportunities For Communities Along The Route. He Urged The Three Countries To Align Policies And Jointly Pursue Comprehensive Development Of The Corridor.
President Hichilema Reaffirmed Zambia’s Commitment To The One-China Principle And Expressed Readiness To Deepen Cooperation Across Trade, Investment, Mining, Agriculture, Infrastructure And Cultural Sectors. He Praised China’s Global Development Initiatives And Pledged To Work Closely With Beijing To Uphold Multilateralism, Free Trade And The Collective Interests Of Global South Nations.
