Born In 1987 In Siaya, Kenya, He Did Not Grow Up In Wealth Or Luxury. His Family Had Very Limited Means, And His Mother Worked Tirelessly To Raise Him And His Sister. It Was A Simple Household, But One Filled With Hope And Determination.
From An Early Age, Larry Dreamed Of Becoming A Journalist And Communicator. He Was Inspired By What He Saw On Radio And Television—How News Could Move People And Shift Emotions. This Fueled His Ambition To One Day Make A Major Impact Using His Voice And Natural Talent.
When He Began Studying Communication At Daystar University In Nairobi, His Passion For Work Pushed Him To Pause His Studies. He Felt That Real Opportunities In Journalism Were More Important Than Sitting In Lecture Halls. At Just 20 Years Old, He Joined KTN As A Trainee, Marking The Official Start Of His Journalism Career.
At KTN, Larry Quickly Demonstrated His Strength In Business And Economic Reporting. He Helped Create And Lead Financial Programs Such As Financial Markets Live And KTN Business Today. This Showed He Was Not Only A Hard-News Reporter But Also Someone Who Could Explain Complex Economic Issues With Clarity. Later, He Joined NTV Kenya As A Business Anchor And Reporter, Where He Delivered Business And Technology News With Confidence And Influence.
Larry’s Journey Did Not Stop There. Believing That African Stories Deserved Global Visibility, He Joined The BBC, Where He Launched Business Programs In English, Swahili, And French Across The Continent. He Was Later Posted To Washington, D.C., As The BBC’s North America Correspondent, Covering Major Events Such As The George Floyd Protests And The 2020 U.S. Election.
In 2021, Larry Received An Even Bigger Opportunity When CNN Recruited Him As An International Correspondent. This Marked A Significant Global Recognition Of His Voice, Representing Africa In Political, Economic, Technological, And Human-Interest Reporting. Besides Breaking News, He Also Hosts African Voices Changemakers, A CNN Program Showcasing African Innovators, Leaders, And Changemakers Transforming Their Communities.
Larry Is Highly Educated, Having Earned A Master’s Degree In Business And Economics Journalism From Columbia University In New York.
