🚨 HAITI’S GANG COLLAPSE UNDERWAY AS UN-BACKED FORCES TIGHTEN CONTROL. ‼️

THE UN-Backed Gang Suppression Force (GSF) In Haiti Is Steadily Overpowering Armed Criminal Groups, Marking What Kenyan Force Commander Godfrey Otunge Describes As The Beginning Of The Collapse Of The Country’s Powerful Gangs. In A Statement Issued On Wednesday, November 19, Otunge Explained That The Shift From The Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) To The GSF Was Part Of A Strategic Restructuring Designed Specifically To Dismantle Gang Networks Once And For All.

Otunge Noted That Coordinated Operations Involving The Haitian National Police (PNH), The Armed Forces Of Haiti (Fad’h), And The GSF Have Already Produced Significant Gains. With Enhanced Intelligence Capabilities And Increased Resources On Land, Sea, And Air, The Joint Forces Have Been Able To Carry Out Targeted Operations And Maintain Continuous Patrols In Gang-Affected Territories.

Describing The Recent Threats From Gang Leaders As A Sign Of Desperation, Otunge Stated That These Actions Are “The Last Kicks Of A Dying Horse.” According To Him, The Combined Forces Have Successfully Disrupted Criminal Networks, Seized Illegal Weapons, And Neutralized Armed Elements Resisting Arrest. “There Is No Safe Haven Left,” He Emphasized, Asserting That The Progress Being Reported Reflects Real Conditions On The Ground.

The Transition To The GSF Follows A UN Security Council Vote On September 30, Which Approved Resolution 2783 To Expand And Strengthen The Mission. Twelve Members Supported The Resolution, While Russia, China, And Pakistan Abstained. Kenya Originally Led The MSS From 2023 And Deployed More Than 700 Officers, Three Of Whom Lost Their Lives In Separate Incidents. Although Kenya No Longer Leads The Mission Under The GSF Structure, It Continues To Contribute Personnel.

The Newly Formed GSF Has Been Authorized To Operate For 12 Months With Logistical And Political Backing From The UN Support Office And The Organisation Of American States (OAS). U.S. Ambassador To The UN Mike Waltz Praised The Move, Saying The Restructuring Restores Hope To A Population Long Terrorized By Gang Violence. He Warned That The Survival Of The Haitian State Depends On The Success Of The Mission.
