THE US Justice Department Has Confirmed It Will Investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s Alleged Ties To Major Banks And Several Prominent Democrats, Including Former President Bill Clinton. President Donald Trump Said He Had Asked Attorney General Pam Bondi And The FBI To Investigate Epstein’s “Involvement And Connections” With Clinton And Others. Bondi Said The Investigation Would Be Handled “With Urgency And Integrity.”
This Comes Days After Congress Released Thousands Of Epstein Emails, Many Of Which Named Trump. Trump Was Named In More Than 1,600 Of The 2,324 Emails Released.
Trump Also Said He Had Asked The Justice Department To Investigate Jpmorgan Chase, Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, And Linkedin Founder Reid Hoffman. He Wrote On Social Media That Epstein Was “The Democrats’ Problem” And Insisted People Should “Not Waste Their Time With Trump.” Clinton, Meanwhile, Has Repeatedly Denied Any Knowledge Of Epstein’s Crimes.
Jpmorgan Chase Said It Regrets Any Contact It Had With Epstein And Denies Aiding Him In His Wrongdoing. It Is Still Unclear Whether Trump Made A Formal Request To The Justice Department Or Simply Posted It Publicly. Bondi Confirmed That U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton Has Been Appointed To Lead The Investigation.
