DESIRE MOYO, A 45-Year-Old Member Of Parliament From Zimbabwe, Died On The Spot Early Today After His Vehicle Struck An Elephant In The Southern Part Of The Capital City, Harare.

Desire, An Award-Winning Poet, Teacher, And Arts Administrator, Was Traveling With Four Other Mps, Who Were Injured In The Accident On The Bulawayo-Gweru Highway — Just One Day Before He Was To Turn 46.

He Was A Member Of The Opposition Party Citizens Coalition For Change (Ccc) Led By Nelson Chamisa, And Also Served On The National Parliamentary Committee For Sports, Entertainment, Arts, And Culture.

The Other Mps Madalaboy Ndebele, Rittah Ndlovu, Libion Sibanda, And Sethulo Ncube Sustained Injuries In The Same Accident And Were Taken To A Local Hospital.

No Harm To The Elephant Was Reported.
