📰. DAR ES SALAAM REGIONAL COMMISSIONER WARNS AGAINST PLANNED ELECTION DAY PROTESTS 🔥

DAR ES SALAAM Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila has issued a stern warning to residents against participating in any unlawful demonstrations or violence reportedly being organized for the upcoming General Election on October 29, 2025.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the ongoing road construction from Kongowe to Mbagala, Chalamila expressed concern over online reports suggesting that some politically affiliated youths are planning to stage protests on election day.

“I’ve seen on social media that some of our fellow youths, political cadres, are planning to demonstrate and cause chaos on the 29th of this month. If you’re among those intending to do so, don’t be afraid — and don’t let anyone intimidate you. But go ahead only if you’re truly prepared for the consequences,” Chalamila warned.

He reinforced his message with a strong caution: “Let me assure you — before you even take a single step, you’ll have said the Lord’s Prayer five times.”

Chalamila also urged Dar es Salaam residents to consider the potential consequences of unrest, reminding them that their daily livelihoods depend on stability. “Any disruption or violence will hit Dar residents the hardest. Most people here earn their living through daily activities that require them to be out from morning to evening to provide for their families,” he added.

The warning comes as political tension begins to rise ahead of the highly anticipated general elections, with authorities calling for calm and adherence to legal channels of expression.
