In A Joint Statement Released On October 10, 2025, Meps Barry Andrews, Robert Biedroń, Udo Bullmann, Michael Gahler, Erik Marquardt, And David Mcallister Expressed Deep Concern Over The Growing Trend Of Abductions And Repression Targeting Political Opponents, Government Critics, And Journalists In Tanzania.
“We Urge The Relevant Authorities To Ensure Polepole’s Safety And Take Decisive Action To End The Ongoing Intimidation And Human Rights Violations,” The Statement Read In Part.
Their Remarks Came Just A Day After The Commission For Human Rights And Good Governance (CHRAGG) Also Condemned The Abduction And Called On The Government To Thoroughly Investigate Polepole’s Disappearance.
Polepole, A Former Ideology, Publicity And Training Secretary Of The Ruling Party CCM, Was Reportedly Abducted During The Early Hours Of October 6, 2025, From His Residence In Ununio, Dar Es Salaam.
The Police, Through Spokesperson David Misime, Have Confirmed That Investigations Are Ongoing To Determine The Circumstances Surrounding The Incident.
