A number of leading U.S. corporations — including Apple, Amazon, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Google, Coinbase, Comcast, and Meta — have reportedly made donations toward the construction of President Donald Trump’s proposed 90,000-square-foot White House ballroom, according to information released by the administration.
President Trump has stated that the project is privately funded through his own contributions and those of private donors, emphasizing that no taxpayer money will be used. Speaking on Wednesday, Trump estimated the ballroom’s cost at approximately $300 million, up from earlier government projections of $200 million.
Additional donors include cryptocurrency entrepreneurs Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and his family, as well as the Adelson family, known for their major Republican donations. Miriam Adelson, widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump in 2018.
A partial list of contributors also features companies such as T-Mobile, Ripple, Palantir Technologies, Micron Technology, HP, Nextera Energy, and several private foundations and high-profile individuals, including Stephen A. Schwarzman, Harold Hamm, and Kelly Loeffler.
While the administration touts the ballroom as a privately financed symbol of American luxury and hospitality, questions remain regarding the corporate motivations behind the donations and the project’s transparency.
