THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Has Issued Special Guidelines Allowing Voters Who Have Lost Their Voter ID Cards To Use Alternative Identification Documents Such As Driver’s Licenses, NIDA Cards, Or Passports. Voters With Visual Impairments Will Be Assisted Through The Braille System.

The Announcement Was Made On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, By Anamary Mbunga, The Election Supervisor For The Mbeya City And Uyole Constituencies, While Briefing Journalists On Election Preparations, Just Eight Days Before The Polls.

Mbunga Emphasized That All Voters Are Expected To Carry Their Voter ID Cards To Polling Stations. However, Those Who Have Misplaced Their Cards Should Arrive Early At The Centers Where They Updated Their Details And Present Other Valid Documents Bearing Their Correct Names.

She Added That Mbeya City And Uyole Have A Total Of 900 Polling Stations, With Mbeya City Now Consisting Of 23 Wards, Reduced From The Previous 36 After Administrative Restructuring. Mbunga Noted That These Measures Aim To Ensure That All Tanzanians Fully Participate In The General Election Scheduled For Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
