In A Public Statement Issued Today, The Police Emphasized The Need For Lema To Present His Concerns At A Police Station In Accordance With Legal Procedures, So That Appropriate Steps Can Be Taken.
“The Police Force Is Following Up On The Matter Closely, And We Urge Mr. Lema To Visit A Police Station And Officially File His Report, As Required By Law,” The Statement Read.
The Authorities Also Issued A Broader Reminder To Political Leaders And Members Of The Public To Ensure That Any Sensitive Information — Especially Relating To Public Safety — Is Shared Through Official Channels And In Accordance With Legal Procedures To Avoid Spreading Fear Or Misinformation.
The Call Follows A Post Made By Godbless Lema On His Official X (Formerly Twitter) Account, In Which He Claimed That His Life Was In Danger. He Alleged That Unknown Individuals Have Been Surveilling Him, With Some Reportedly Spotted Around His Residence — Raising Serious Concerns About The Safety Of Both Himself And His Family.
The Police Did Not Dismiss The Seriousness Of The Allegations But Maintained That The Appropriate Course Of Action Is For Lema To Report The Issue Formally, To Allow For Proper Investigation And Protection Measures If Necessary.
