Pakistan’s security forces have killed 216 terrorists, including 41 linked to Indian proxy networks, in coordinated intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
The operations began on January 29, 2026, near Panjgur and Harnai after confirmed reports of terrorist elements with external backing. These groups were allegedly targeting civilians, including women and children, to destabilise the province. ISPR said security forces launched swift, coordinated actions against terrorist hideouts, dismantling networks said to be operating under Indian patronage. In the initial phase, 41 terrorists tied to Indian proxy groups were killed. The military’s media wing said the response foiled the “nefarious designs” of what it termed Fitna-e-Hindustan, allegedly aimed at disrupting peace in Balochistan. Subsequent combing and clearance operations targeted terrorist sleeper cells in multiple areas. ISPR stated that, through joint and carefully planned actions, the total number of terrorists killed reached 216, significantly degrading their leadership, command-and-control and operational capabilities. Security forces also seized a large cache of foreign-made weapons, ammunition, explosives and equipment. Preliminary assessments indicated evidence of external assistance and logistical support to the networks. ISPR confirmed that 36 civilians, including women and children, were martyred during the operations, while 22 security personnel also lost their lives defending the country and protecting civilians. “The nation pays tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and stands in solidarity with their families,” ISPR said. Reaffirming its commitment under the National Action Plan, the Pakistan Armed Forces reiterated their resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms, saying counterterrorism operations will continue with full force until its complete eradication.
The statement said Operation Radd-ul-Fitna One reflects the collective determination of the people of Balochistan and Pakistan to uphold peace, unity and progress.
