Six people were arrested, including two students.
The people caught were SN, a mason who lives in Maristes, O. Touré, a delivery worker who also lives in Maristes, SM Kane, an electrician who lives in Maristes, M. Faye, a delivery worker who also lives in Maristes, and two students: SN, who lives in Maristes, and SF, who lives in Grand Mbao.
They were taken into police custody for planning and selling drugs, which included 95 packets of Indian hemp, according to Seneweb sources.
The operation started after someone gave a tip about a big drug-selling group in the Maristes area.
The gendarmes then set up a watch and did quiet spying in that part of the neighborhood.
For several days, the strange movements of some people helped identify who the sellers were and who their customers were.
The investigation showed that the suspects had a set way of doing things.
They would hide a plastic bag with the drugs in a certain place, then go to a quiet spot. Every time a customer came, one of them would go get a packet from the hiding spot and bring it back to the agreed place.
After officially identifying the suspects, the police did a planned and strong operation that led to their arrest.
A body search, along with a search of the hiding spot, resulted in the seizure of 95 packets of cannabis.
When questioned about what happened, most of the suspects admitted to the charges, saying they were doing it because of money problems.
However, two of them, SN and SM Kane, tried to say they didn’t do it, even though they were clearly identified during their trips between the hiding spot and their customers.
At the end of the investigation, the six suspects were taken to the High Court of Dakar yesterday, which was Friday.
