Tunisia and Tanzania both made it to the knockout stage of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after drawing 1-1 in their match. The game was very quiet, and the whole match didn't have much action, with only 0.12 expected goals (xG) for both teams combined after the first 40 minutes. That was when the first big moment happened.

The referee, Jean-Jacques Ndala, decided to give Tunisia a penalty after a long VAR check.
Ibrahim Hamad was thought to have tackled Hazem Mastouri unfairly during a free kick. Gharbi stepped up and scored his second international goal, giving Tunisia a lead just before the break.
Even though Tunisia had very few attacks in the first half, Tanzania came back with a goal from nowhere.
A few minutes into the second half, Novatus Miroshi passed the ball to Feisal Salum, who shot from outside the box and beat Aymen Dahman. This equalizer was important for Tanzania.
The rest of the game was quiet, with Tunisia content to just hold on, knowing they couldn’t be passed in second place.
The draw means both teams move on to the next round, but under different conditions.
Tunisia finished second in Group C, behind Nigeria, while Tanzania advanced by finishing third in the best group of third-placed teams.
Since they scored one more goal than Angola, they might face either Morocco or Egypt, two strong teams in the tournament.
Tunisia, on the other hand, will face Mali, which came second in Group A.
