The Dutch defender has been out for the past 11 matches due to a hamstring issue. In his absence, Dominik Szoboszlai and Joe Gomez have frequently played in his place at right back.
Szoboszlai and Gomez were substituted early in Liverpool's 2-0 win against Brighton due to an ankle injury and a hamstring problem, respectively. Cody Gakpo has also been out for the last two weeks with a muscular issue. Slot provided an update on their fitness.
"He had a scan that looked positive," Slot said. "So we're not too worried anymore. He might come back earlier than expected, but definitely not tomorrow. Joe isn't in the squad either."
Slot was asked if Szoboszlai will start against Spurs. " That depends completely on how he does today and then we'll talk to the player and the medical staff," he said.
"If the player feels good and does all the necessary things, then he will start.
Dom would be a starter tomorrow if he's fully fit." After a period of poor performance, Liverpool has won their last two matches and are now just two points behind the top four.
"Winning always brings a good feeling and boosts the team spirit, especially after so many changes in the summer," Slot added. "The league table is very tight, so winning or losing has a big impact.
"Our main goal is to build on the last five games. We've been solid defensively, which is a good foundation. Combined with the players getting more ready for Premier League intensity, I think there's more to come from us."
