Sponsorship income has always been a tough area for Roma, and things have gotten harder because of UEFA's financial oversight.
This season, the club started without a main shirt sponsor after their €12.5 million deal with Riyadh Season ended. This situation is similar to what they faced back in 2023 when Digitalbits couldn't fulfill their commitments. The club's struggle to find reliable, high-value sponsors has started to take a real toll on their finances.
In Italy and across Europe, the biggest clubs are still making big money through major sponsorship deals, which is making the financial gap between them and smaller clubs even wider.
According to Calcio e Finanza, teams like AC Milan (Emirates), Inter (Betsson), and Juventus (Jeep/Visit Detroit) each earn about €30 million from their shirt sponsors. Some teams, including Juventus, Fiorentina, and Bologna, have also used related-party deals to boost their income.
In comparison, both Roma and Lazio still don't have a main shirt sponsor.
Tomorrow's news could be a turning point for Roma as they try to get back on track in the commercial world and improve their financial health in the coming months.
