GABON'S head coach Thierry Mouyouma has named a strong 28-player team as the Panthers get ready to try and win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. Leading the group is the experienced forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is expected to be the team's key player.
The team includes a group of experienced and skilled players.
MLS player Denis Bouanga (Los Angeles FC), experienced defender Bruno Ecuele Manga (Paris 13 Atletico), and energetic midfielder Mario Lemina (Galatasaray) are all included in the final squad. Mouyouma's selection shows Gabon's goal of entering the competition with a strong and capable team.
Aubameyang is in good form following a good season with Olympique de Marseille.
In Ligue 1, he has played 13 matches, scoring five goals and making five assists. The 36-year-old has also performed well in the UEFA Champions League, scoring three goals and providing four assists in just six games.
With this strong group of players and experience, Gabon aims to be one of the top teams in the biggest football event in Africa when the tournament starts.
