"This is a decision we have not taken lightly and one in which we have deliberately taken our time, keeping all our options open and seeking a wide range of qualified applicants," Pelligra continued.
"We are confident that Adam has the ability to build a strong club culture with players and staff who are committed to the club's continued success.
"Recent performances have shown what our squad can achieve and we look forward to seeing Adam continue this good work and lead us on a path to even greater success, giving our Members, fans and all Western Australians the glory they deserve."
Griffiths' ultimate goal will be to add to his 2007/08 A-League Championship win as a player with Newcastle Jets, a highlight of a playing career that has included more than 160 appearances as a defender for several Australian clubs during the NSL and A-League eras. Adam Griffiths, whose "I am a Lion" press conference aired earlier this month, has been signed to lead the club for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. The announcement follows a major shake-up in form under Griffiths, who took over as the club was set to finish in the top flight down.
Since his arrival, Glory have enjoyed a remarkable resurgence, winning three consecutive matches, including two clean sheets, before losing 1-0 to title contenders Sydney FC. The run has lifted Perth Glory to fifth place on the ladder with ten points, putting them firmly back in contention after a difficult start to the season.
Club owner Ross Pelligra confirmed the decision on Tuesday, praising Griffiths' leadership and character. He stressed that while results are important, building a strong club culture is the priority, expressing confidence that Griffiths can unite the players and staff to deliver long-term success for the club and its supporters across Western Australia.
Looking ahead, Glory are well placed to build on the momentum with a series of home matches against Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners, and Brisbane Roar, as well as two trips to Melbourne over the holidays. For Griffiths, the role also marks another chapter in a decorated footballing journey, as he aims to add to the 2007/08 Premier League title he won as a player and Newcastle Jets.
