Scholastica, popularly known as Scholah, excelled academically, scoring 409 in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and later securing a B Plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

Faced with unemployment, Scholastica opted to start a vegetable selling business, commonly known as mama mgogo, with an initial capital of about Ksh 3,000.

What started as a survival measure slowly grew into a profitable venture. She now earns between Ksh 5,000 and Ksh 10,000 on a good day. "Right now, I earn between Ksh 5,000 and Ksh 10,000," she said in an interview. While in college, Scholastica explored modeling and worked at a cosmetics store to support herself financially. Her life took a difficult turn in 2020 following the death of her grandmother, who raised her, forcing her to balance studies and work to make ends meet.

After graduating, she abandoned modeling and fully embraced the grocery business, approaching it creatively by sharing her daily work and experiences on TikTok.

Her content has garnered a lot of attention and praise, with many praising her resilience and determination to earn an honest living.

Scholastica’s journey has reignited discussions about graduate unemployment in Kenya and inspired many young people to reconsider self-employment as a viable and dignified path to financial independence.
