IBRAHIM DIABATE: CENTRE-FORWARD LINKED WITH EGYPT’S AHLY SC IN POTENTIAL TRANSFER MOVE

IBRAHIM Diabate is now connected with a potential transfer from the Swedish club GAIS to the big Egyptian team Ahly SC. The chance of this happening is about 61%, as per transfer data. The 26-year-old forward, who is worth around €1.5 million, is getting more attention because his market value has gone up a lot in the last year.

Diabate joined GAIS from another Swedish club, Västerås SK, earlier in 2025.

His good performance in the Allsvenskan league has started to catch the eye of teams outside Sweden. Even though no money has been agreed upon and no contract details have been shared, the lack of public information about his deal at GAIS means he might be able to move on without much trouble, or even become a free agent soon.

Born in Bouaké on November 17, 1999, Diabate has had a long journey to reach this point.

Before coming to Sweden, he played in lower divisions in Spain. He moved from ASEC Mimosas to RCD Mallorca B in 2018 and had loan spells at Sevilla Atlético and Atlético Madrid. His value stayed low during that time, around €150,000, but it started to rise when he joined Västerås SK and then jumped significantly after moving to GAIS, where it now stands at €1.5 million.

Standing 1.85 meters tall and being right-footed, Diabate has experience in both Spanish and Swedish football systems.

This could make him an attractive option for Ahly, as they are looking for a strong forward with experience in different kinds of play. Ahly would be paying more for a player who came from Västerås SK to GAIS and has developed quickly in Scandinavia.

If Ahly decide to make an offer, a move to Cairo could be a big step in Diabate’s career.

It would give him a bigger stage in African club football and help him build his reputation and future chances.
