YOU can capture the entire screen, a window, or just a portion of the screen.
1. Capture the Entire Screen
Press:
➡️ Shift + Command (⌘) + 3
Your screenshot will automatically save to your desktop.
2. Capture a Selected Portion of the Screen
Press:
➡️ Shift + Command (⌘) + 4
A crosshair cursor will appear.
Drag to select the area you want to capture, then release to take the screenshot.
3. Capture a Specific Window
Press:
➡️ Shift + Command (⌘) + 4, then tap Spacebar
The cursor will turn into a camera icon.
Click on the window you want to capture.
4. Screenshot Toolbar (More Options)
Press:
➡️ Shift + Command (⌘) + 5
A toolbar will appear with options to:
• Capture entire screen
• Capture window
• Capture selected area
• Record your screen
• Choose save location
5. Capture the Touch Bar (If your Mac has one)
Press:
➡️ Shift + Command (⌘) + 6
