HOW BAFANA BAFANA HAVE BEEN UNSTOPPABLE IN COMPETITIVE MATCHES FOR TWO YEARS

HUGO BROOS has been the head coach of Bafana Bafana since May 2021, and in his time, he has managed 33 competitive matches. His leadership has helped South Africa qualify for two Africa Cup of Nations events and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. What's impressive is that the team hasn't lost any games in competitive matches over the last two years.

Under Broos, Bafana have only lost four matches on the field, and none of those have happened in their last 20 competitive games since their 2-0 loss to Mali at the start of AFCON 2024. There was also an overturned result in a World Cup qualifier against Lesotho, but the match results mentioned here are based on the actual outcomes during regular time or extra time, as recorded by FIFA.

Broos' coaching record shows 18 wins, 11 draws, and just four losses. Some of his key victories include two wins against Morocco, a home win against Ghana, and an important away World Cup qualifier win against Benin. One of the most standout wins was a 5-0 home victory over Congo, which is the second-largest win in Bafana's history.

South Africa's form has been strong lately, with eight clean sheets in their last 10 competitive games, just two goals conceded, and 22 goals scored.

In all 33 matches, Bafana have scored 53 goals and allowed only 22, with Lyle Foster and Teboho Mokoena leading the scoring chart with seven goals each.
